Activate Groups

Our Activate groups consist of 15-20 people and are semester based. Semester will last 10-12 weeks. Each group studies a variety of topics that seek to help everyone grow deeper in their relationship with God. Each group for each semester is required to participate in two externally focused outreach projects in the community. Our goal is that through Activate groups we will challenge people to grow and mature in their relationship with God and serve others. Fall 2009 Schedule

We are pleased to offer five Activate Groups for the Fall Session. Each group will also include a service opportunity.

To sign up for a group or for any questions concerning the groups, please send an e-mail with your contact information and the group you wish to join to CCCActivate@verizon.net or contact Jonathan Stanger at 530-0206 by September 27th. Scholarships are available should cost be an issue for any of the groups.

  • The Divine Mentor: Discover how to enjoy a vital, dynamic, intimate relationship with God as you learn to hear Him speak to you through the Bible. Join Noah Jessee as he leads this study. A journal will be provided to participants. This study is based on the The Divine Mentor by Wayne Cordeiro (not required, but available at Amazon.com for $11.19).
    • Required Materials: Bible, Pen and Small Notebook
    • Meeting Time: Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m., October 6th - November 17th

  • Unveiling Revelation: Think the book of Revelation is difficult? Join Neil Wheeler in a study that will lead you to a better understanding of these scriptures.
    • Required Materials: Bible, Pen and Notebook
    • Meeting Time: Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m., October 6th - November 24th
    • Location: Chester Christian Church Building


  • Fireproof Your Marriage: This study, led by Chuck and Kathy Ferrell and Mike and Tracy Botset, will challenge you to love better, to love first, and to love for a lifetime.
    • Required Materials: Participants Guide, Dare to Love Devotional Book ($15.90 for Both Books - Payable Before First Class)
    • Meeting Time: Mondays at 7:00 p.m., October 5th - November 16th
    • Location: Chester Christian Church Building


  • Your Money Counts: A 10 week in-depth study of what scripture teaches about money and possessions. This class requires daily homework and a minimum of 8 weeks attendance. Led by Arthur Smith and Jonathan Stanger. Class size is limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
    • Required Materials: Bible, Life Group Member Set ($55.00 for Couples, $45.00 for Singles - Payable Before First Class)

  • Informal Discussion Group: Join this group for informal discussion group about selected texts, led by Betsy Wheeler.
